Hooliganism among football fans has been eradicated in UK. UK is given as an example of efficient measures taken against such anti-social facts.

Oh, really?

Attitude (II) - Say No to Pig Brother Gang

Filed under: Politică, English - general — Georgero at 9:33 am on Saturday, April 28, 2007

Romanian Blogosphere started a campaign in the favour of the Romanian president, Traian Băsescu. It all started with the dirty attack of some Romanian dickheads against the President’s website. The site has suffered serious flooding attacks and the server finally collapsed. So, even though we risk the same treatment, we definitely try to stand up and say clear and loud what we have to say, no matter what is gonna happen…

So, first of all, why am I supporting this guy, a guy who’s been accused in the past of selling the Romanian Commercial fleet? I know, he’s not a perfect guy, he’s an ugly looking dude, he’s got some sort of a willing to overrule, some sort of an attraction to dictatorship ideas and he likes to consider himself an iron fist.

But, on the other hand, he’s following ideas of great Romanian thinkers, he’s the first Romanian, after WWII, who stood up decisively against any form of Communism, condamning it firmly. He’s a winner, he’s got elected against all odds, at both Bucharest Municipality and Presidential election. He changed the face of the capital. While being the Mayor he demolished all illegal built and shitty looking little shops and re-organised the way the city looks. He’s the one who brought billions of euro to the City hall, by raising the rating of the city and creating path to affordable billions of money from loaning. He’s the one who’s not so easily making compromises and he’s always fighting for his believes. He refuses any closeness with the Pig brother Russia and says clearly that will go till the end with his main allies, UK and USA. So, it’s the first time when we’ve got a president that has some guts and not some bloody Russian puppet, like Iliescu.

So, all this situationn may be a very complicated one which, indeed, as mentioned here , could have serious results.

PS: I haven’t proofread the article yet, due to lack of time. I’ll get back to it as soon as I’ll get some time. So, sorry about any possible missjudgements or mistakes.

In fact, who’s the suspended one?

Filed under: Politică, English - general — Georgero at 1:31 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2007

Last Thursday, president Băsescu was suspended. So, next month, we’ll have a referendum. It is obvious that the population will not follow Parliament’s decision and it will vote massively in favour of the President. There is no doubt about that. Then, I wonder if the Parliament has anymore rightfulness, since its decisions won’t follow the population’s desires?! You got that one right. None. Null. We’re gonna have a visionary Parliament, which will not represent the majority will. Following the logical string, we may find out that, by its decision of suspending the President, the Parliament has practically signed its own disbandment act. It may appear as a doubtful situation while, in fact, it all goes by the rules of democracy and constitutional right.

But how was all this situation possible? I don’t want to talk about the reason why the Parliament wanted to eliminate Băsescu from the political scene, instead it is interesting to observe the immaturity of political culture of Romanians. Many of them voted Băsescu as a President but, in the same time, they also voted for other parties, having a disparate point of view in comparison with the President’s one. Therefore an escape-less situation has born, in which the lack of political instruction of the population played a major role. So, the president is now sustained by an insignificant political minority while he’s having rather huge population support.
